Lucky Eskimo | whimsical cold porcelain pendants100% SSL Secure
- American Express
The Aurora Borealis collection wouldn't be complete without these wonderful lucky charms inspired by the images of my youth. This is my version of the Eskimo carved charm called a "Billiken". The Billiken wasn't created by the Inuit, rather adopted by them as a mythical good-luck figure who represents "things as they ought to be" back in 1909 when they first made their appearance in Nome, Alaska.
Each eskimo is unique, hand formed in cold porcelain and then cured over 3 days until bone dry. The clay is then painted in multiple layers of pearl acrylic and clear, sparkling aurora glitter.
The pendants are offered on a 16" silver tone "snowball" chain.
